Incesu Canyon

İncesu Canyon, located near İncesu Village in Ortaköy District, contains natural, cultural and historical resource values. The local people living in the area call the area "Uzungeçit". The area, which contains traces of various civilizations from the Hittites to the Ottoman Empire, has the character of an open-air museum today. Traces of the Çekerek River are quite evident in the area. The river processed the area over millions of years and gave it its current appearance. The entrance to the canyon, which is approximately 60 meters wide and extends up to 15 km, from Çorum, is provided from İncesu Village in the north. The entrance point in the south of the canyon is located near the Kazankaya settlement within the borders of Yozgat province. Apart from these two entrance points located in the north and south, the canyon does not have any other natural entrance. This limited transportation situation makes the canyon quite untouched and mysterious.
